VoiceMog keeps voice content and coaching results on your iPhone and limits external services to disclosed purchase support, app-use analytics, and attribution.

Version-specific summary

The original VoiceMog version 1.0 does not include third-party analytics or attribution SDKs. VoiceMog version 1.0.1 may collect the limited pseudonymous data described below while app-usage sharing is on. That version does not ask for Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission, does not access IDFA or IDFV, and blocks advertising-partner postbacks.

VoiceMog version 1.0.2 and later starts app-usage sharing off. After showing your first on-device audit result, VoiceMog presents Apple's tracking prompt directly, with no custom message or deferral control beforehand. If you allow tracking, VoiceMog activates the analytics and attribution services described here. If you decline, those optional providers remain off. IDFA is available only if you allow Apple's system permission. Every VoiceMog feature remains available either way, and you may independently enable identifier-free app-usage sharing in Settings.

VoiceMog does not require an account, sell personal data, or show third-party ads inside the app. It uses disclosed data to understand and improve VoiceMog and to measure VoiceMog's own advertising. The behavior that applies to you depends on the version installed, your in-app sharing choice, and your separate Apple tracking permission.

Voice and coaching data stay on your device

When you choose to record, VoiceMog uses your iPhone microphone to create a local audio file. Acoustic analysis, optional on-device speech checks, coaching results, percentiles, waveforms, and fixed processed previews are created on your device. VoiceMog never sends recordings, transcripts, free-form speech, age entries, acoustic measurements, coaching scores, Voice Age, percentiles, file paths, or generated result images to Mixpanel, AppsFlyer, RevenueCat, TikTok, Meta, or 8 OClock, LLC. Local audio and structured results are excluded from iCloud backup.

During a practice drill, VoiceMog reads live microphone levels only to animate visual feedback. It does not create a practice recording, transcript, analysis, or saved practice result.

Seven App Privacy data types

Depending on the installed version, your choices, and purchase activity, VoiceMog may send the seven data types below. The App Store disclosure conservatively treats each type as linked to a pseudonymous provider record. Version 1.0.1 does not use any type for tracking. For version 1.0.2 and later, Coarse Location, Device ID, Purchase History, Product Interaction, Advertising Data, and Other Data Types may be used for tracking after the required choices; Performance Data is not used for tracking.

  • Coarse Location. While sharing is on, AppsFlyer may receive an IP address or map it to an approximate area. RevenueCat may receive the IP address for attribution only after Apple tracking authorization. Configured ad-partner measurement may use permitted network information. VoiceMog does not request Apple's Location Services permission. Purposes: Analytics; Developer's Advertising or Marketing.
  • Device ID. While sharing is on, providers may receive a random VoiceMog-scoped analytics ID or an AppsFlyer install ID. In version 1.0.2 and later, IDFV and IDFA may be collected only after you allow Apple's tracking permission. Purposes: Analytics; Developer's Advertising or Marketing.
  • Purchase History. This is limited to the subscription plan, purchase or restore outcome, and Apple-verified transaction state. RevenueCat may receive these records for subscription support even when app-usage sharing is off. After both app sharing and Apple tracking are authorized, approved subscription events may be sent from RevenueCat to AppsFlyer and configured ad partners. VoiceMog does not receive payment-card details. Purposes: App Functionality; Analytics; Developer's Advertising or Marketing.
  • Product Interaction. While sharing is on, Mixpanel and approved AppsFlyer conversion events may record app opens and completion of fixed onboarding, audit, paywall, preview, practice, re-test, and sharing-sheet milestones. AppsFlyer also receives a zero-revenue subscription-activation signal used only to update Apple's privacy-preserving aggregate conversion measurement. That signal is not mapped to TikTok or Meta as a purchase or subscription event. AppsFlyer may send other approved conversion postbacks to configured advertising partners. Events do not contain voice content or coaching results. Purposes: Analytics; Developer's Advertising or Marketing.
  • Advertising Data. While sharing is on, AppsFlyer may receive a normalized campaign, media-source, ad-group, ad, creative, or keyword value used to understand which VoiceMog marketing led to an install or subscription. Purposes: Analytics; Developer's Advertising or Marketing.
  • Performance Data. While sharing is on, AppsFlyer may receive SDK-provided launch, battery, and related performance information. Purposes: App Functionality; Analytics.
  • Other Data Types. While sharing is on, AppsFlyer may receive its app-install identifier plus limited technical and network information needed for attribution and service operation. If Apple tracking is denied, approved aggregate partner postbacks contain only identifier-free campaign details, with no IDFA, IDFV, IP address, user agent, or AppsFlyer ID. Purposes: App Functionality; Analytics; Developer's Advertising or Marketing.

VoiceMog does not use these data types to display Third-Party Advertising inside VoiceMog, for Product Personalization, or for Other Purposes. It does not send a custom User ID, account identity, audio, transcripts, health data, age, voice measurements, scores, or percentiles. RevenueCat may assign a random anonymous subscription identifier when its SDK starts; VoiceMog has no account system and does not tie that identifier to a name or email address.

Service providers and retention

Mixpanel receives the allowlisted product-interaction events while sharing is enabled. Automatic event collection, user profiles, location enrichment, and Session Replay are disabled. Mixpanel's current default event-retention period is two years, and its current data-processing terms provide for deletion on a valid customer request or within 90 days after the service agreement ends. AppsFlyer provides install, campaign, conversion, and privacy-preserving aggregate attribution. Version 1.0.1 does not give AppsFlyer IDFA or IDFV and blocks every advertising partner. In version 1.0.2 and later, AppsFlyer may receive its install ID, IP-derived information, and approved app events after you allow Apple tracking or independently enable app-usage sharing in Settings. IDFA and IDFV remain disabled unless you allow Apple's tracking permission. Apple's SKAdNetwork and AdAttributionKit can send privacy-preserving postbacks without ATT. AppsFlyer states that it retains end-user data for no more than 24 months unless VoiceMog directs otherwise or applicable law requires or permits longer retention. RevenueCat may receive Apple-verified purchase and restore records for subscription support. In version 1.0.2 and later, allowing Apple tracking may give the pseudonymous RevenueCat subscription record an AppsFlyer ID, IDFV, IP address, and IDFA. RevenueCat can then send approved subscription lifecycle events to AppsFlyer. If either choice is not authorized, VoiceMog does not give RevenueCat those attribution identifiers and blocks that partner-sharing path. RevenueCat documents that device identifier attributes cannot be changed once set. A later app-level opt-out blocks future AppsFlyer partner sharing but does not erase identifiers already stored. RevenueCat does not publish a fixed ordinary retention period for these customer records. It documents that a customer deletion through its dashboard or API clears the customer's data, subject to legal and standard backup or archival obligations; that deletion does not cancel an Apple subscription. TikTok and Meta may receive approved install, app-event, and subscription conversion postbacks from AppsFlyer after app-usage sharing is enabled. User-level postbacks are permitted only after Apple tracking authorization. If Apple tracking is denied, partner output is identifier-free and aggregate, or no MMP event is sent. VoiceMog does not send these partners voice content or coaching results. Data already delivered is handled under the partners' own terms and privacy policies. Your sharing and tracking choices

In version 1.0.1, pseudonymous app-usage and attribution sharing begins enabled and can be turned off or re-enabled in VoiceMog Settings. In version 1.0.2 and later, sharing begins off. After showing the first on-device audit result, VoiceMog presents Apple's tracking choice directly, without a custom pre-prompt. Denying or restricting tracking keeps Mixpanel, AppsFlyer, attribution-related RevenueCat attributes, and advertising-partner postbacks off.

If you allow Apple tracking in version 1.0.2 or later, VoiceMog activates its approved analytics and attribution services. Apple's choice controls IDFA and every user- or device-level cross-company tracking path. If Apple tracking is denied, optional providers remain off unless you later enable identifier-free app-usage sharing in VoiceMog Settings. You can review or change Apple's status in iOS Settings.

Turning Share app usage off stops future Mixpanel and AppsFlyer activity from VoiceMog, blocks future RevenueCat-to-AppsFlyer partner sharing, and clears the local analytics and attribution state VoiceMog controls. Re-enabling does not backfill the off period. Apple-verified purchase or restore activity may still be mirrored to RevenueCat for subscription support. Turning sharing off does not change the separate Apple system permission and cannot erase data a provider already received, immutable RevenueCat device attributes, Apple's transaction records, or data held in an SDK-managed queue VoiceMog cannot purge.

Permissions and sharing you choose

VoiceMog requests microphone access when you start an audit and may request Speech Recognition permission for an on-device prompt check. If on-device recognition is unavailable or declined, VoiceMog omits filler scoring and continues with acoustic analysis. VoiceMog does not request access to contacts, photos, the camera, Location Services, or notifications. Version 1.0.2 and later may request Apple's tracking permission directly after the first on-device result. AppsFlyer's IP-derived Coarse Location disclosure above does not mean VoiceMog accesses precise location or requests location permission.

VoiceMog can create result images locally. The iOS share sheet sends an export only to the person, app, or service you select. VoiceMog does not receive the image, destination, recipient, or delivery status. A destination you select handles the export under its own privacy policy.

Local retention, deletion, and privacy requests

VoiceMog Settings lets you choose local audio retention and delete local VoiceMog data. Local deletion removes recordings, previews, sessions, and app-controlled analytics state from that device. It does not cancel an Apple subscription or, by itself, delete records already held by Apple, Mixpanel, AppsFlyer, RevenueCat, TikTok, or Meta.

To request access to or deletion of provider-held VoiceMog records, email help@8oclock.co before deleting local data. We may need a pseudonymous identifier available on your device to locate the records. We will verify and act on valid requests within the period required by applicable law. Provider deletion does not cancel an Apple subscription, and continued use after deletion may create a new pseudonymous record.

Adults only

VoiceMog is intended only for people who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App Store age restriction supports device-level parental controls, but VoiceMog does not independently verify a user's age. If you believe a child provided data through VoiceMog, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when VoiceMog or its service providers change. We will update this page and the App Store privacy disclosure before releasing a version whose data practices materially differ from the version described here.
